Understanding Terminology
Onie Studio uses a customizable terminology system so the app speaks your language. This page explains the default terms and how to change them.
Default Terms
| Term | Meaning | Example Rename |
|---|---|---|
| Session | A booked job or project | "Shoot", "Project", "Engagement" |
| Client | A person or business you work for | "Customer", "Contact" |
| Invoice | A request for payment | — |
| Quote | A price estimate | "Proposal", "Estimate" |
| Contract | A legal agreement | "Agreement" |
| Package | A bundled service offering | "Collection", "Bundle" |
Customizing Terminology
- Go to Settings → Terminology
- Click Edit next to the term you want to rename
- Type your preferred label
- Click Save
Once saved, your custom term appears everywhere in the app — including navigation, buttons, emails, and the client portal.
note
Terminology changes are per-account and do not affect other team members' accounts unless you're on a shared workspace plan.
Why Customize?
Different creative disciplines use different language. A wedding photographer might call their jobs "Shoots", while a graphic designer calls them "Projects". A brand consultant might prefer "Engagements". Onie Studio adapts to you.
