Guide for Designers
How to use Onie Studio for brand design, web design, and other creative project work.
Your Typical Workflow
Discovery Call → Proposal → Contract → Project Kickoff → Milestones → Final Delivery
Step 1: Discovery & Proposal
After a discovery call:
- Create a Client and note the project scope in the client notes
- Create a Quote (rename to "Proposal" in Settings if you prefer)
- Break down your services into line items:
- Brand Strategy — $X
- Logo Design (3 concepts) — $X
- Brand Guidelines Document — $X
- Set payment terms (e.g., 50% upfront, 50% on delivery)
Step 2: Project Contract
Once the proposal is accepted:
- Send your Design Services Agreement contract
- Use variables like
{{client_name}},{{business_name}}, and{{invoice_total}}to personalize it - Collect the digital signature and deposit invoice in one step
Step 3: Managing the Project
Use Sessions (or rename to "Projects") to track each engagement:
- Set milestone dates as Time Blocks in the schedule
- Update the session status as you move through phases
- Add notes per milestone (concept presentation, revisions, final approval)
Step 4: Revisions & Scope Creep
If the client requests additional revisions beyond the contracted amount:
- Create a new Quote for the additional scope
- Get approval before doing the extra work
- Convert to an invoice when approved
Step 5: Final Delivery
- Export your final files (PDF brand guidelines, SVG/PNG logo files, etc.)
- Use File Delivery to share them securely
- Send the final Invoice for remaining balance
- Mark the project as Delivered
